Our Story

The Beginnings

Cedarhill Farm was founded in the 1970s by Nora Cooke on Providence Road. In 1989, Nora retired and moved the farm to Waxhaw, developing the original property into the Cedarhill neighborhood. Shortly after graduating college, Brian and I (Andrea) jumped at the chance to keep the tradition alive by taking over the lease at our new Waxhaw-Marvin Road location.

Tragedy & Resilience

In 1991, disaster struck when an electrical fire completely destroyed our barn, claiming our equipment, possessions, and eight beloved horses. It was a devastating loss, but our incredible community stepped in. Led by clients John Tarleton and Lynn Hipp, their extraordinary support allowed us to purchase land and build a brand-new barn at our current home: 2620 Waxhaw-Marvin Road.

Cedarhill Today

Since then, Brian and Andrea have worked tirelessly to grow Cedarhill Farm into a premier, first-class equestrian facility. Today, we remain deeply hands-on—personally running horse shows, clinics, camps, lessons, and community events to carry forward the spirit that has defined Cedarhill for decades.
