We had a great group of riders head down to Aiken for the Equus Events horse show December 1-4 for the first show of the season. Congratulations to our junior hunter riders; Emily Orrell and Sawyer who got better as the weekend progressed, Lindsey Rigney and Calypso who won a class and was reserve champion in the junior division, and Wynne Weatherly and Oro who are back to tearing it up – champion in the junior hunter division, second in the National Derby , winner of EJ Haun, Maclay, and earning the “Trip of the Day” on Saturday. Jordan Sigmon and Patrick, along with Rebeka Hancinska and Henry are putting it together in the children’s hunter. Haley Rogers and Simon, also in the children’s hunter earned a reserve champion. Both Haley and Jordan put in solid trips in the National Derby, earning 7th and 10th place respectively. Sara Evans and Clementine made their debut in the adult hunters with increasingly improved trips. They won the under saddle. We look forward to the Aiken horse show the first two weeks of January, this time at Highfields.
